Our Story
Melissa Morales started working in the consignment industry at the age of 15 with no intention of ever purchasing or owning her own store. With an eye on graphic design and package design she never though that at the age of 20 she would be holding the keys to her future, BBPD Consignment. After purchasing the store Melissa spent most days learning the “other” side of working in resale and spent years getting to know her consignors, customers, and community.
With a background in design she founded Atlanta Consignment Stores, a local directory of Atlanta area consignment stores in 2008 which hosts bus tours, is visible around town, and has a community map of local consignment stores. In her spare time she enjoys anything to do with water such as kayaking, paddling, swimming and rafting and when not on the water she spends time with rescue animals. With a passion for recycled pets, she works to raise awareness of homeless animals and how each person can make a difference by fostering, adopting, donating or volunteering. Often BBPD will host fundraisers and events to raise awareness and funds for local rescues.
With a passion for resale and having literally grown up in the industry, Melissa loves what she does and enjoys the challenge and constant changing pace of the world of consignment. Being blessed to be the youngest past board member of NARTS: National Association of Resale & Thrift, she enjoys spending time with other small business owners and speaking at consignment classes when called to. After spending more than 20 years in the industry she is proud to have been on almost all major TV channels in the major Atlanta area and many magazines and awards given for BEST OF…. in multiple categories. She believes in sharing the vision of consignment and resale to the next generation of shoppers and sellers.
As featured in 2017 on the front cover of the financials for USA Today, Melissa was on the forefront of the LIVE “Online Shopping” for Facebook and has since found a whole new world in online selling. With the continued expansion of selling platforms, it has been an exciting time in the resale world.
